HotelHub is on the countdown to the prestigious 2021 Business Travel Europe Awards on 9th September in London, having been named a finalist for Technology Innovation – Corporate Booking Platform.
A real honour
For over 25 years, The Business Travel Awards have been regarded as the highest accolades in the business travel sector, honouring the best suppliers in each category.
The 2021 Business Travel Awards Europe, organised by the BTN Group, recognise and celebrate the industry’s response to what has been an extremely challenging year. In particular, the awards for 2021 place emphasis on how companies have best demonstrated leadership, partnership and innovation throughout the last 12 months.
A rigorous process
To be named a finalist is an outstanding achievement as these awards are highly competitive and involve a detailed written submission and entry process. The judging process, conducted by a panel of 27 business travel managers and consultants, is rigorous and totally impartial.
After completing stage one of the written submission, each finalist is then required to prepare a comprehensive case study demonstrating successful collaboration with a corporate client or partner to target certain goals.
Creating solutions
HotelHub’s stage-one submission focussed on how the HotelHub agency platform solves TMC and corporate customers’ multiple pain points around managing and automating hotel bookings effectively.
These pain points include inefficient booking processes, low visibility of volumes, weak audit of commission paid/owed, booking leakages, leading to low hotel attachment, missed hotel booking opportunities and missed hotel revenue opportunities.
The award submission explained how HotelHub’s smart tech overcomes all these pain points by delivering unparalleled efficiencies, choice and automation of hotel bookings.
The HotelHub platform aggregates hotel content from multiple GDS and non-GDS sources and includes an intuitive tool for agents that fully automates the hotel booking workflow and includes an application programming interface (API) integrated with the industry’s online booking tools. This ensures all hotel bookings, regardless of how they are booked, are manageable within the HotelHub platform.
An in-depth case study
HotelHub’s stage-two case study showcased how we have partnered with a major global TMC for the last six years to deliver innovative hotel solutions to market.
HotelHub has successfully streamlined and optimised the hotel booking process, enabling the TMC to enhance its value proposition for corporate customers, as well as suppliers, significantly.
The TMC commented:
‘We have partnered with HotelHub to ensure we provide clients with an exceptional hotel booking experience, whilst also strengthening our hotel sourcing and content strategy. It is an essential part of our client offering and a core differentiator for us in the market.
The HotelHub team have taken ‘partnership’ to another level for us – they are highly engaging, flexible and creative – and committed to the same high standards as ourselves.’
Reflections and thanks
Reflecting on this achievement, Eric Meierhans, Chief Commercial Officer at HotelHub, remarked:
‘We are delighted and proud to have made the shortlist for this year’s Business Travel Awards Europe. This is a great honour as these awards are like the Oscars of the business travel industry and reaching the finalist stage is a very competitive process.
We would like to thank the judges for recognising HotelHub as a potential winner of the Technology Innovation – Corporate Booking Platform category.’
